76LR2AS005 Land Rover Series 2A SWB Canvas Bronze Green

76LR2AS005 Land Rover Series 2A SWB Canvas Bronze Green

The physical differences between the Land Rover Series II – also in the Oxford range - and Series IIA were engine capacity, external styling, and interior controls. The Series IIA introduced the 2.25-litre diesel engine, an officially styled and friendlier appearance with a square-jawed look and internal controls like the horn in the steering wheel centre and dash-mounted indicators. Externally, the most significant visual change for later Series IIA models was the repositioning of the headlights to the wider front fenders.

The Series IIA Land Rover model is part of Oxford’s 1:43 scale as well as 1:76 and for its latest introduction in 1:76 scale, it comes registered EHM 629J from 1970/71. It appears with a short wheel base in the signature bronze green colour scheme with a light beige canvas back featuring side and rear windows. The exterior trim is silver. Note too, the customary spare tyre on the bonnet and the new style wider placed headlights, completing the authentic look of the original, which was argued by many to be the hardiest Series model constructed.
